My Journey: From Matanzas, Cuba, to Freedom and Opportunities

This book is an overall view of Sam Verdeja’s professional, social, and personal life. Sam began to put together a family tree and realized that he also could record the oral history of his family and friends, plus his own experience with people, places, and events. Sam began writing this book about his early days in Cuba, going to college at LSU, going back to Cuba, the experiences of working for the revolutionary government, and then going into exile. Also, the book includes his new life, career, and community involvement in the United States and abroad. Additionally, it has his family history and interesting side bars, like meeting important personalities in politics, business, entertainment, and sports, and his favorite leisure activities and hobbies.
